The terrain of the land being fertilized is of great importance to consider too. The degree of precision that one needs to achieve is also an important factor for consideration. Different products are designed with different levels of precision. If the equipment can allow for regulation of the level of precision and the amount of granules released per unit time, it would be better.

Cost is yet another variable. Cost differs depending on the manufacturer, size, model, country of origin, accuracy of the equipment, fuel consumption and many others. If one owns a large piece of land, they will require a huge spreader, which translates to more costs. One can also opt to lease the tool from rental stores and after application of the fertilizer, they can take it back.
