A cafe that serves an assortment of refreshments sits close by. The outdoor areas are full of hiking trails too.

If you are a great lover of American political history, you should visit Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. It is a site that features reconstructed buildings from the civil war era. In whole, the site gives an account of the local military history as well as the history of the Native Americans in the area. Its many trails are a favorite among bikers, horseback rides and hikers. There is a campground that features modern amenities on site too.

The largest lake locally is Lake Sakakawea. Its shoreline runs from more than 1500 miles. The lake is popularly used for kayaking, motor boating and sailing. It is also home to a diverse range of fish species throughout the year. Most tourists love to travel in RVs so they can camp at the several modern campgrounds on site. Some local shops also offer boat rentals.
