The Procedure Of Doing Sod Installation Commercial

By Melissa Gray

A lush lawn enhances the aesthetic value of a property. No matter the type of property; be it a residential or commercial, hiring a professional to carry out Sod Installation Commercial in your property brings you a lot of benefits. For instance, the monetary value of the investment shoots. In fact, it only takes a few hours to bring this transformation to your home. In addition, that alleviates the need to do seeding.

It takes more than just laying down the turf grass to change the landscape. Rather, it requires the expertise of a commercial contractor to be able to bring the required green effect to ground littered with patches of brown and withered lawn. In addition, a professional is able to do that using the right apparatuses for better results. Nonetheless, there are some steps that need to follow by professionals, failure to which, the entire endeavor would be in vain.

Before indulging in any works, one needs to clear up the ground, and sort the soil first. With the use of a rototiller, make the soil lose. This looseness should not exceed seven inches. Next, take compost and assort it with the ground to introduce nutrients to it. For the soil to allow water perforation, add a little sand, together with clay. To level the ground, pass a rake through the raised lumps protruding the ground.

After sprinkling a little water to the prepared soil, the ensuing step is to lay down the first roll of sod. To achieve a straight edge, lay them from a straight edged boundary, for instance; the fence. Laying the rolls is not enough because some air collects beneath them. To get rid of the air, press them against the ground gently so that it adheres firmly to the wet ground. Then proceed on to laying the remaining rolls.

Covering the entire yard does not signal the end of the project. In order to flourish, the lawn needs to be watered regularly in the first one or two weeks. Watering makes the soil settle well. Also, that makes the sods cohesive to with the soil underneath. Watering becomes effective in the morning because, during the day, the temperature levels evaporates considerable amount of moisture.

After a week of watering, reduce the daily watering routine. Peter off this sequence to just two times a week. By then, the installed sod would have started becoming part and parcel of the ground, like any other natural vegetation. As time elapses, sprinkle it like you could do normally but do so more frequently during summer days.

Once the grass grows to about four inches mow it. Such height should be a cue to clip it a bit. When mowing, one needs to compromise on the fragility of the grass because it is new to the ground. Therefore, instead of using the driven mower, use one that is operated by pushing. Only reduce the height to about an inch from the ground. That enhances the growth of deep roots, and inhibits the growth of weeds.

Lastly, remember to add fertilizer. Addition of that increases nutrient value of the soil. This is mainly done to make up for the lost nutrient due to increased leaching during the intensive watering in the preceding few weeks. On top of that, never fail to hire an expert mower to maintain the landscape.
